Heather Strickland
Mom of two boys. Tenacious. Attorney at Law and Owner of MyersStrickland.
I am focused on the people who come to my office—not the cases. There are so many variables in building families through adoption and assisted reproduction. Every birth mother, child, adoptive family, and intended family has a unique story that brought them to my door. I respect those personal stories while creating the legal structure for the family. Guiding people through those difficult journeys is my expertise, and what makes this work so special. I truly do represent every kind of family, providing every kind of help.

My Family’s Foster Care Story
While in high school, my friend, through no fault of her own, could not return home to live with her parents. Deeply concerned for her safety and stability, I went home and persuaded my parents to provide that much-needed home. Ignorant of the commitment and sacrifice I just talked them into, I watched in awe as my parents opened our home and their hearts to another young person. They took all the necessary steps to become licensed foster parents and provided unwavering support during her foster care journey. I recall a caseworker telling my parents that she had never seen a family give 110% to a child the way my parents had. This was no surprise to me, as giving your all was just how things were done in my family.
In addition to the Herculean efforts I witnessed in my own parents, I was deeply touched by the care and support I saw teachers, administrators, caseworkers, and the school community provide to my friend. I saw a community rally around a young person in need.
Now, as an adult member of the Tucson community, I am keenly aware of the precious gift that families give to vulnerable children and to our community as a whole when we make the commitment and sacrifice of providing children with a safe and loving home. I am also witness to the great joy that children bring to their new families.
Lorraine Dorame
Grandma to three. Unflappable. Office Manager and Legal Assistant.
I worked 10 years in the Criminal Division at the County Attorney’s Office and wanted a good change. The job came open in the Adoptions for the County Attorney’s Office and I applied and fell in love with working with families during their adoption. Then one day, MyersStrickland called and I jumped at the chance to continue to work with adoptive families.
Fun Fact: I speak Spanish. I am a native Tucsonan and my family has been in Arizona since the late 1800s, before Arizona became a state!
Nicole Myers
Adoptive Mom. Infectiously Enthusiastic. Legal Assistant.
For six years I worked with the State of Arizona as an adoption case manager. In 2018, I transitioned to adoption law as I had the opportunity to expand my adoption knowledge through the legal side.
My Mantra: I take joy in the small things in life, for if you cannot take joy or celebrate the little things, then how can you appreciate the big things?
Vee Harrington
Dog mom. Laser Focused. Semi-retired Assistant.
I worked for MyersStrickland for 5 years as a legal assistant. I tried to retire, but I decided the work was just too much fun!
